- Our generation has been good enough to see countless people live their dreams of success due to the Internet, and it's promotion ability.
- Don't let opportunities that were given to us to be taken away from us without a fight.
- If this bill is passed, do you have any idea how SLOW the internet would be. You'll be able to enjoy 1993 internet with 56k speeds, so we might as well go back to playing "Oregon Trail" & "Midnight Rescue". It'll be just like AOL 3.0 all over again.
- Online purchases will also be obsolete. You won't be able to shop online, and credit card usage will be out the door. Sites like Paypal won't be around anymore.
- Sites like this one, and other blogs/sites will be gone also.
- Even simple videos of people singing other people's songs(which is known as a cover) will be considered pirating, and you can be imprisoned, or sites like Youtube & Google will be held responsible for something that simple.
- For the ignorant people out there, this bill also means there will be no more "Worldstar Hip Hop", online music, and porn. Yeah, that's right.
Stop SOPA
Whitehouse.gov internet petitions are often used in order to get real responses from the White House administration. SOPA(Stop Online Piracy Act) is a bill the government, and major corporations are trying to pass in order to stop websites from pirating/stealing products. For those of you who are unsure of what I'm referring to, it's basically a bill to block many websites that we use everyday just to stop people from downloading things like movies & software for instance. This also means that we as a people will be censored with our internet usage, especially on Social Networks. We won't be able to use media on a lot of sites, plus our free speech online will be censored. Another big problem with this bill is that it will hinder online small businesses, especially for designers, artists, and many more who are selling their product online. For artists out there who utilize the internet as an outlet, there will be NO more freestyles or even mp3's online. These are all a few things that this bill can stop us from doing, and sites like Wikipedia, and Google are trying to help stop the bill. Wikipedia is blacking out it's site in actually 5 minutes(Jan. 18th), to combat the bill just to show people how severe the passing of this bill will be. To combat the bill visit American Censorship or Google's END Piracy NOT Liberty & sign their petition.
