The Black Power Mixtape: 1967-1975 Documentary
This week a documentary compiled up of rare/never before seen footage from the "Black Power Movement" is being released. The "Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975" was shot by a Swedish news crew, and ended up being found in the cellar of the tv station over 30 years later. Filmmaker Goran Hugo Olsson discovered the footage, and premiered the film at January's "Sundance Festival". Goran Hugo Olsson also discussed his views on the black power movement, and how the government pushed drugs into the black communities to bring it down. The film features "Black Panther" co founder Bobby Seale, Angela Davis, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli & Harry Belafonte amongst others.
