As children we all knew who "Sesame Street's" Bert & Ernie were, but we didn't realize the few weird things on the show until we were of age. During these days we all question Bert & Ernie's sexuality, and apparently an online petition over at
Change.org has been started in attempts to get "Sesame Street Workshop" to allow a marriage between Bert & Ernie. The petition has gained almost 5,000 signatures so far, and the "Sesame Street Workshop" sent out a statement stating that Bert & Ernie are actually best friends, created to teach preschoolers people can be friends with those who are different from them. The "Sesame Street Workshop" have also said that Bert & Ernie aren't gay, and that muppets don't have any sexual orientation. I'm not God so I don't judge anyone's decisions or way of life, but personally I think we should leave the kids alone. The world itself shows all of us different things on a daily basis & I don't believe things should be forced on preschoolers in that manner, even though there are enough cartoons out there already subliminally doing it.
