Vybz Kartel's Severed Ties

As of late Vybz Kartel seems to be the highlight of the media, whether it be about his music, skin bleaching, issues with the law, or his business endeavors you can always expect to hear his name. Since Vybz Kartel's departure from his mentor Bounty Killer's "Alliance" in 06', Kartel has been leading his own group the "Portmore Empire". After joining the group that was originally formed by Deva Bratt, Kartel boosted himself & his career to have one of the biggest cult like followings Dance Hall has ever seen. Unfortunately for Kartel the rumors on how he treats people, and his business tactics are making sure he ends up by himself. Kartel has kicked Deva Bratt out of his own group, Lisa Hype was kicked out, his lieutenant Blak Ryno has removed himself, Gaza Kim soon followed, his business partner Corey Todd severed ties with him, Jah Vinci, and now his in house producer Not Nice have also left the group. Most of these members of "Portmore Empire" were rumored to be beaten, and or attacked on different occasions prior to or after their departures. At one point Kartel helped revolutionize Dance Hall's lyricism, and that is the Kartel I remember but his United States Visa woes haltered his earning potential which led him to concentrate on taking the island of Jamaica by storm over the past three years. Kartel has flooded the airwaves, and internet in the last three years which made it difficult for his competitors to keep up despite not having a Visa. Those three years made us see Kartel in a different light, he became an desperate attention seeking leech, that other artists no longer respected. Kartel is slowly but surely becoming someone the Dance Hall Fraternity as a whole wants nothing to do with, and his next few decisions will alter the remainder of his career.
