                The Evolution

                to

              Something Else

Following up from his 2006 Platinum Release The Evolution of Robin Thicke,
the man returns with his third studio album Something Else. The album's title
definately reflects the music it holds. The album truely is something else
because of the sultry classic soul vibe it has. With Magic being the lead
single to the album Robin Thicke prepares you for what to expect
  throughout the album.

I give Thicke credit because in an era of overused collaborations for airplay and sales he
pulled off an entire album with no features besides Lil' Wayne on Tie My Hands.
The only other collaborations he has on this album are things people wouldn't notice.
The album is solely produced by him alongside his co-producer and features
nothing but live band performances including Michael Jackson's band from
the albums Thriller and Off The Wall. The downside of the album can be the fact that
compared to modern day R&B sounds it is far from that raunchy, raw Hip-Hop/R&B
sound(which is only a downside considering who's listening). The album definately can
be related to a modern day Marvin Gaye type sound, and mainly focuses on delivering/catering
to "her" needs. If your parents heard the album you might end up with a little brother/sister in
nine months.

He starts the album off with lines like;

You're like a baby jumping up and down
Ooh like a baby I can't put you down
and when you cry I'll pacifier you
[You're My Baby]

So if your tired of regular R&B music and want to
hear Something Else(No Pun Intended) Robin Thicke's
Something Else may be just what you're waiting for.

Here's my favorite remix of Magic featuring Freeway.

Lastly I'm just going to leave you
all with the video for Magic.
